What Life Giveth Thee

Headless horseman in my dreams,
blood of humans running in streams;
what life giveth thee o' almighty lord,
cruelty, disasters, mourning and screams.

Awakened are the devils,
rising are the perils;
what life giveth thee o' almighty lord,
floods, famines, poverty and deaths.

Vanished thy humanity, cherished is insanity,
all in blood right from toe till the cavity;
what life giveth thee o' almighty lord,
disgrace, dishonour, despair and demolition.

Alas a butterfly, ventured into the sky,
expanding its scope, in search of hope;
what life giveth thee o' almighty lord,
failure, ambush, regret and suicide.

was there Kabir, Kalidasa and buddha,
or are these myths, perceptions of karma;
what life giveth thee o' almighty lord,
beliefs, religions, colours and war.

Hail o thee white dove, get inside your cove,
human monsters are on the prowl, awaiting a whisper, a shadow or a growl;
what life giveth thee o' almighty lord,
greed, bloodshed and pieces of peace.
